represents Toronto Association for Learning and Preserving the History of WWII in Asia (“Toronto ALPHA”), a charitable organization dedicated to promoting the education in Asian WWII history through working with school boards, teachers and students.

Sought from Ontario Court of Justice unprecedented probation order under ss. 732.1(2)(a.1)(i) and 732.2(2)(b) of the Criminal Code against career shoplifter in the area. Order granted imposing ban from area for the maximum 3 years allowed under the Criminal Code.
- Legal Counsel to family of victim in the so-called “webcam” murder (2011-2013)
Represented the parents of murder victim and York University student Qian LIU in their journey through the Canadian criminal justice system. Assisted the parents who are Chinese nationals to understand and accept the various disparities between the Chinese and Canadian criminal justice systems.
- Counsel to the family of Steven CHAU, a schizophrenic (2006-2010)
Steven missed his monthly medication which has controlled his hallucination for 18 years. Twelve days later, he suffered a psychotic episode during which he killed his wife and their 2 young children (aged 3 yrs and 5 months) with a meat cleaver. He was ultimately held to be Not Criminally Responsible for the deaths under the Criminal Code.
Applied to the Coroner’s Office and the Solicitor General of Ontario for an inquest into these tragic deaths in order to prevent them from occurring to other families who are caring for members with mental health issues. Organized a press conference at Queen’s Park where health care experts explained the need for legislative reform in the care for mental health patients.
