Chi-Kun is a trial lawyer with more than 30 years’ experience and had served as a roster mediator for Ontario Superior Court for 14 years. Chi-Kun always strives to deliver value to clients of various backgrounds, including those who cannot afford full courtroom litigation but need to resolve their legal disputes.
With the rise in delay, complexity and costs of court adjudication, meeting this challenge has become more pressing. Mediation is for many their only viable access to our justice system today.
Chi-Kun’s experience as lawyer and mediator (in different cases) gives her perspective on how to facilitate the mediation process and respect the roles of all concerned, especially that of counsel. She suggests solutions that are designed to provide long term peace among parties, clarify expectations and deliver practical results.
Her fluency in both oral (Mandarin, Cantonese and Shanghainese) and written Chinese facilitates communication with parties.
Chi-Kun believes that a mediator must provide positive experience for all parties.
